"The aim is to present a line of work clothes whose theoretical background was outlined by the author in her book “Work Dress Design” (2007). Advanced research on materials and technologies has long investigated work clothing, and provided the general context for the design of a line targeted to elderly women, consisting of highly specialised clothes for the safety and comfort of women performing their everyday activities. They are functional clothes with their own morphological features, deriving from the common behaviours of people who need to carry out simple tasks demanding more and more effort as age increases. Analysing the body movements of no longer agile individuals, combined with a search for the most performing materials, led to the design of a clothing range which could make body movements easier and support the parts of the body that suffer most from the physical effort. The context for the study of an elderly woman’s anatomy was provided by the actions most commonly performed: do the shopping, move things around, do the chores, etc. The resulting clothes adapt to the shape and location of the muscles and, above all, the movement of the single parts and of their combinations during movement. The photographic analysis on the field made it possible to contextualise the project and provide appropriate answers to the unspoken requests of women at work. "

Abstract
