Abstract
The Unification of Italy imposes the need to equip the new school with study tools required for the application of the Casati law on the national territory. In Naples, Carlo Lanza, a patriot and a son of a patriot, a companion of De Sanctis, published in 1867 the Avviamento allo studio della letteratura greca, a textbook designed and written for the education of youth. The analysis of the essay, considered in the context of contemporary Italian and foreign production, sheds light on its aspirations and limitations, but, more importantly, highlights its patriotic adhesion to Muller's conception of literary history as social history of a people.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
