The aim of the present work is to focus attention on how the European Spatial Programs can realize immigrants’ integration and social equity in European cities. The first part of the paper propose an overview of all the programs, divided and analyzed, by the use of S.W.O.T. analysis. Then, at- tention was focused on the Urban Community Initiative (UCI) that is the European program that maximizes the possibility of immigrants’ integra- tion and social equity. In the second part the case study of Murcia is pre- sented and discussed. This programme focuses on an area of the City of Murcia, the Espinardo district which is included in the list of Spanish disadvantaged areas (Obser- vatory “La Asomada”). URBAN Murcia is presented since it is an example of best practices of ethnic minority’s participation in transforming some areas of a city.
