In this chapter we observe labor and capital (financial) markets imperfections and their influence on firms’ behavior in the boom-boost period. In order to analyze the Italian case, we first focus on the macroeconomic aspects and then on the institutional setting. This part presents a description of the overall situation in the country and evaluates some important macroeconomic indicators. In addition, the major characteristics of the capital and the labor market in Italy are presented. Following, we describe our database (a representative sample of 994 Italian companies) for the period 2006–2010 with descriptive statistics. Next, the empirical results gathered from the regression analysis are presented. To conclude, we summarize the Italian situation and considered the — 218 — current setting of the technical government led by Mario Monti and highlight the additional needed reforms.

Abstract
To conclude, we summarize the Italian situation and considered the — 218 — current setting of the technical government led by Mario Monti and highlight the additional needed reforms.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
