This paper addresses the problem of estimating the information content that can be sent by a source to an observation domain. In particular, the connection between information content and the Number of degrees of freedom is discussed. Using arguments based on the warping variable, the information content can be easily estimated by counting the number of samples that fall in a fixed measurement aperture. Finally, it is shown that the inhomogeneous background increases the information content compared to a homogeneous scenario.

Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of estimating the information content that can be sent by a source to an observation domain. In particular, the connection between information content and the Number of degrees of freedom is discussed. Using arguments based on the warping variable, the information content can be easily estimated by counting the number of samples that fall in a fixed measurement aperture. Finally, it is shown that the inhomogeneous background increases the information content compared to a homogeneous scenario.File in questo prodotto:
