Abstract

The incipit of the XXIII World Heritage and Food to Feed Forum invites us to "sustainably manage natural resources to preserve ecological balances" (Gambardella, 2025). We are certainly all aware that only this educational path feeds the "new human ecology" (Pope Francis, 2016) , other ways of understanding training 1 through creative processes aimed at the well-being of people and the protection of the territory. Pharmafood Design, the main research line of the LANDesign Laboratory, is dedicated to the promotion of well-being and care through a holistic approach to nutrition, designed for children, adults and the elderly. The goal is to educate (e-ducere, to bring out) with rigor and responsibility, aligning design practice with ethics. Enzo Mari, in the "Barcelona Manifesto" (Mari, 1999), proposed a new "Hippocratic Oath" for design, arguing that ethics should be the main objective of every project. As in the Hippocratic Oath, doctors commit to "treat every patient with care and commitment, without any discrimination" so, mutatis mutandis, the designer treats the person, not the consumer, through analog and digital artifacts that contribute to individual and collective health and wellbeing. This work is in line with the United Nations Agenda 2030, in particular with Goal 3 (Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
