Minor historic centres represent a crucial component of Italy’s cultural heritage, bearing witness to the historical and architectural evolution of territories often overlooked in heritage enhancement processes. The medieval village of Casertavecchia (CE), a significant example of minor cultural heritage in Southern Italy, exhibits a complex historical stratification that poses numerous conservation challenges due to its nature as a minor historic centre. Its urban fabric requires targeted strategies for both heritage enhancement and seismic risk mitigation. This research contribution, developed within the framework of the GeNeSis project (GestioNE del rischio SISmico per la valorizzazione turistica del Mezzogiorno), aims to identify innovative strategies for the protection, enhancement, and sustainable use of such heritage through an integrated methodological and disciplinary approach. An initial in-depth analysis of the urban fabric and the main architectural landmarks of the village was carried out using established architectural survey methods. Subsequently, a typological-structural analysis enabled the reconstruction of historical transformations within the built environment, providing essential support for defining compatible conservation measures. Finally, the development of a virtual tour enhanced accessibility, enabling immersive engagement and fostering inclusive cultural tourism.
