The paper, within the framework of the PRIN 2017 research (Tech-Start), aims to demonstrate how the adoption of flexible design solutions, may represent a possible response to the impacts of the critical environmental and social scenario on living spaces, especially for the redevelopment of dismissed buildings. The methodological approach is divided into three steps: a critical analysis of some of the main societal and environmental phenomena; a focus on the concept of flexibility, analysed through a literature review and a selection of best practices, in which flexibility is assumed among the design goals; effectiveness evaluation of some spatial and technological solutions based on flexibility, applied to the redevelopment of a building in the Neapolitan suburbs. The proposed methodological approach allows to identify flexible design solutions for outlining alternative intervention scenarios for the redevelopment of buildings responsive to present-day environmental and societal challenges.

Abstract
The proposed methodological approach allows to identify flexible design solutions for outlining alternative intervention scenarios for the redevelopment of buildings responsive to present-day environmental and societal challenges.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
