This article explores the role of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in enhancing urban health and well-being, with a focus on the synergy between community-driven innovation. By examining case studies in various urban contexts in Italy (both top-down and bottom-up approaches), we highlight the importance of involving local communities in the development of NbS to address environmental challenges while simultaneously promoting social equity. The findings demonstrate how holistic approaches can lead to sustainable and health-promoting environments that reflect the needs and aspirations of residents.
