This paper aims at analyzing the developmental dynamics of the contemporary city, focusing on the use and transformation of the public space related to mega-events. In 1990, the assignment of the World Cup "Italy '90" to Italy gave rise to multiple restructuring interventions, including the renovation project of Piazzale Tecchio in Naples, as a "place of social condensation”, curated by the Studio Pica Ciamarra Associati.
