A recently introduced, effective approach to the phase retrieval problem from far-field measurements is extended to the near-field case. While continuing to address the 2-D phase retrieval as a series of 1-D recovery problems which are effectively solved by combining the Spectral Factorization method with a selection scheme reminiscent of solving a crossword puzzle, the extension is performed by exploiting fundamental results on the efficient planar near-field measurements by warping strategies. In this way, bandlimitedness of scattered fields is restored and hence the method can preserve all its advantages with respect to the state- of-the-art techniques, including the need of only one measurement surface as well as the capability of finding the optimal solution of the problem without recurring to computationally-expensive global optimization algorithms.

Abstract
A recently introduced, effective approach to the phase retrieval problem from far-field measurements is extended to the near-field case. While continuing to address the 2-D phase retrieval as a series of 1-D recovery problems which are effectively solved by combining the Spectral Factorization method with a selection scheme reminiscent of solving a crossword puzzle, the extension is performed by exploiting fundamental results on the efficient planar near-field measurements by warping strategies. In this way, bandlimitedness of scattered fields is restored and hence the method can preserve all its advantages with respect to the state- of-the-art techniques, including the need of only one measurement surface as well as the capability of finding the optimal solution of the problem without recurring to computationally-expensive global optimization algorithms.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
