The urban area of Porta Capuana in Naples, a cornerstone of trades, manufacturing activities and exchanges, appears nowadays as a model for the development of design-oriented strategies and deeds aimed at the inclusion and the enhancement of an ever-expanding multicultural commu- nity. The paper focuses on a historical and critical analysis of those processes, outlining a network between the local communities and the associations in terms of a virtuous promotion of cultural diversity.
