In the 19th century Lorenzo Blanco worked as an "interpreter" of the papyri in the Officina dei Papiri. He also wrote a few books concerning papyri and was very active until the early 1850s. This paper aims to reconstruct Blanco’s career through a series of unpublished documents preserved at the National Library of Naples.
