To young designers I suggest to hoe the ground (Enzo Mari 2011) Oratory Centers can represent, in South Italian small towns a symbol of the idea of community integrated with the environment in which people live, a tangible sign of a Resilient Community. Compared with other meeting places which accommodate groups that are connected by homogeneity of interests, here are established relationships between people of different ages, cultural backgrounds and income. Thus, what is interesting for the project is to reveal the signs of this all-encompassing and welcoming openness in the configuration of the spaces which are marginal in relation to the territory, accentuating the visible characteristics of openness. The opening towards the interior also has to make clear an opposite direction, from the inside towards the outside. This is particularly relevant into a territory with an agricultural traditional, whose identity may not be compromised by a sign which is separated from the cultivated landscape. In the paper is presented an application of these ideas into a project of an oratorical center in the province of Salerno. It, while responding to oratorical requirements, is used in outside space as a social orchard. “Animi Motus”, with the significance of emotion, empathy, is the title of the project, it is an incipit and a goal at the same time. So the proposal has internal and external osmotic spaces without any interruption, into a fluid movement for convivial experiences, which can promote a sense of belonging to a resilient oratory community.
