The participation of Olivetti at the Italy at Work exhibition is the premise for a very concise narrative – outlined through the analysis of some documents held at the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti – about the relationship between Olivetti and the United States of America, which highlights two different his-torical moments and, therefore, two divergent ways in which the Ivrea-based company looked to the new world to spread and consolidate the presence of its products and style, first in Italy, Europe and South America and, then, through the transatlantic route on the American market.
