In recent years Distributed Acoustic Sensing based on optic fibers is receiving a lot of attention because of the possibility to detect space-time data over extended spatial regions. In this paper we focus on using DAS data for monitoring vehicle traffic and for detecting vehicle typology. We test the results on real data coming from an experiment which uses an optic fiber installed parallel to a road.

Abstract
