This study deals with the calibration of the Parent Distribution method for prediction of return wind speeds. High-resolution datasets of the German Weather Service (DWD) are used to examine the reliability of the results obtained by Parent Distributionmethod and to point out the uncertainties in the evaluation of the model parameter, λ. Comparison will also be carried out with the results obtained.
