We present the design of a multi-gigabit wireless point-to-point communication system based on millimeter wave frequency band and FPGA baseband modem. Different commercial radio transceivers have been experimentally assessed, in order to compare their performance in terms of harmonic distortion and spectral purity. The results indicate that the choice of a suitable transceiver has a profound effect on the wireless communication system performance.

Abstract
