Abstract

Within building renovation interventions, a deep knowledge of the building and the context in which it is placed is a key factor in order to respect, in the upcoming intervention, the character of the existing building. For this reason, during the investigation phase it is very helpful to follow a standard and univocal procedure, consisting in simple steps, allowing to identify, at various scales (urban, building, technological, etc.) the invariant elements to be repeated in the project. This paper presents the application of a possible methodology to a real case belonging to the spread building heritage in Naples’ suburban area.
