The Number of Degrees of Freedom (NDF), the point-spread function (psf) and Kolmogorov entropy representing metrics commonly used to evaluate the achievable performance in linear inverse problems are expressed in terms of the singular values decomposition of forward operator. The problem to establish a link between such figures is addressed.
