In this paper the problem of studying the spectrum of the radiation operator in near reactive zone is addressed. This topic is of great importance because of its connection with the so-called Number of Degrees of Freedom concept which is a key parameter in inverse source problems. The case of a bounded rectilinear magnetic source with the radiated field observed over unbounded rectilinear domain parallel to the source is considered.

Abstract
