We present an algorithm for mine detection and localization based on single view single frequency multistatic electromagnetic scattered field data collected in near field configuration. Mines are assumed to be shallowly buried so that only their position in the horizontal plane has to be searched for. Abstract

We present an algorithm for mine detection and localization based on single view single frequency multistatic electromagnetic scattered field data collected in near field configuration. Mines are assumed to be shallowly buried so that only their position in the horizontal plane has to be searched for. To this end, the scattered field is modelled as the field radiated by planar surface electric currents and a two dimensional linear inverse source problem is formulated. A simple strategy for exploiting available data in case of wide ranging of the measurement domain is proposed. Experimental results show approach effectiveness.
