Abstract

Planimetry dating to 2400 B.C., provided scaled and dimensioned. The geometric and mathematical features suggest a standardization of the first human residences in an urban context whose tri-dimensional volumetric reconstruction allows us to: verify current interpretations regarding Sumerian architecture; assess the purposes of the incisions in order to determine whether they were part of an ancient land registry; reflect upon the invariances of graphic conventions and the history of methods of representation; deduce the criteria and values in effect in contemporary society.
