The seismic safety of reinforced concrete frame buildings designed with the prEN version of Eurocode 8 was investigated. At first an equivalent non linear static procedure based on the push-over analysis with a fiber element modelling, the Capacity Spectrum Method and on the Inelastic Demand Spectra was carried out. Then equivalent ductility factors accounting for the cumulative damage effects were used giving a good agreement with the dynamic response. Finally, a simplified method to evaluate the cyclic deformation capacity and the Park & Ang damage index was used to characterize the seismic safety at the elastic and the ultimate limit state.

Abstract
The seismic safety of reinforced concrete frame buildings designed with the prEN version of Eurocode 8 was investigated. At first an equivalent non linear static procedure based on the push-over analysis with a fiber element modelling, the Capacity Spectrum Method and on the Inelastic Demand Spectra was carried out. Then equivalent ductility factors accounting for the cumulative damage effects were used giving a good agreement with the dynamic response. Finally, a simplified method to evaluate the cyclic deformation capacity and the Park & Ang damage index was used to characterize the seismic safety at the elastic and the ultimate limit state.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
