A study of the seismic damage of r.c. framed structures designed with the ENV and the prEN versions of Eurocode 8 was carried out. A non linear fiber element model for the dynamic analysis was considered. Different seismic damage models for the structural members were used as a measure of the effectiveness of EC8- ENV and prEN design criteria for the ductility classes.
