Abstract

Projecting Sky on Earth and reproducing its irresistible harmony have induced humans, today as in past, to study the laws that regulate the stars and to capture the rhythm of Universe, measuring it. The rhythm, which beat time, is perhaps the most perceivable among the measurable quantities, that of which we are mostly aware in our daily life. In Latin, metiri, which means measuring, has the same root of mensis, which means month, and specifically lunar month by confirming that the original measure is that of the time. Since the past times, when the necessary scientific knowledges didn't exist yet, the first measure instrument used by man has been the Sun, particularly its dancing among the horizon during the seasons, that daily projects it in the Sky long different trajectories according to the months. The Sun way and the stars movements condition the orientation, a real rite, through which antiquity Architecture, in the East as in West, becomes Universe image.
