Abstract

The Church built by Bread in the spaces of the Triennale Lands Overseas, in its simplicity and in its clarity of form, because not explicitly created as a church-although it should be celebrated and was consecrated only in 1952-was an attempt absolutely happy to respond to the expectations, on very stringent criteria, the clergy of the time about the most complex configuration to give rooms for religious celebration. In fact, the controversy of churchmen concerned the use of new materials and above all the forms that they could give the sacred spaces: it is documented by a large number of publications of which perhaps the best known is sacred art and modernism of Celso Costantini 1935. In the diagram of a longitudinal invaded apse, proposes the sequence of a portico with three arches as a triumphal arch modern, ancient memory of a four Christian connected to a "baptistery" circular and domed with single cut into the curvature of the bowl, the nave flat roof suggests the fundamental option for the basilica Latin suggesting implicit links with the production of sacred time not rinuncianto a reading and interpretation of the original theme
