In recent years, the role of representation has changed profoundly, enriched with new meanings in the direction of a real knowledge of the environment, landscape and territory. The rapid development of tools aided by technological innovation have enabled new approaches to knowledge, both in the “measuring” of objects, no longer seen as a simple description of the geometrical aspects, as well as in the “representation” phase, thanks to the possibility to simultaneously describe numerous categories of information. These changes have taken place in a more general climate of awareness about the importance of the planning and management of the natural and built heritage, which if preserved properly can bring development and prosperity to the community.

Abstract
In recent years, the role of representation has changed profoundly, enriched with new meanings in the direction of a real knowledge of the environment, landscape and territory. The rapid development of tools aided by technological innovation have enabled new approaches to knowledge, both in the “measuring” of objects, no longer seen as a simple description of the geometrical aspects, as well as in the “representation” phase, thanks to the possibility to simultaneously describe numerous categories of information. These changes have taken place in a more general climate of awareness about the importance of the planning and management of the natural and built heritage, which if preserved properly can bring development and prosperity to the community.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
