The problem of the reconstruction of the dielectric permittivity of a body embedded in a homogeneous medium is afforded. The approach is a very general one, and it consists in expanding the operator linking the permittivity and the electric field inside the body in a power series, truncated at the second term. It is shown that the quadratic inverse problem to be solved does not present local minima in the functional defining the generalized solution, if a sufficient number of independent data is used for theinversion.

Abstract
The problem of the reconstruction of the dielectric permittivity of a body embedded in a homogeneous medium is afforded. The approach is a very general one, and it consists in expanding the operator linking the permittivity and the electric field inside the body in a power series, truncated at the second term. It is shown that the quadratic inverse problem to be solved does not present local minima in the functional defining the generalized solution, if a sufficient number of independent data is used for theinversion.File in questo prodotto:
