This contribution regards some design occasions about topic of relationship with the monument (as“identity mnemonic device”, Riegl). Projects face up to three topics in the recent architectonical debate. They consider historical material as “heritage” (something connected to inheritance), modern design skill of assure transmissibility through building and context definition according to a contemporary notion of space and unity (Rogers). Topics are: (1) definition of archeological landscape, (2) modern architecture skill of transmitting historical laws, (3) saving strategy of urban post-war settlements. First topic concerns to “context reconstruction” due to fragmentary architectonic and urban elements and new architectures. Reconstruction acts respect to a careful consideration of elements arrangement, read as management (manifesto of social organization, Lévi-Strauss). Pompei, square system of Atella, area Cellarulo in Benevento become occasions for clear plug-in operations of new architecture. In this way, historical space meaning develops in a today sense, according to historical process of continuity. New social acknowledgement of values allows transmission and heritage life goes on.
