Between 1828 and 1832, the monk Ignazio de Rossi made an exstremely accurate hand-copy of Danila's Bible, the precious manuscript wwritten in Oviedo at the beginning of the 9th century and the oldest codex presently in the abbey library of Cava dei Tirreni. The paper, after a brief of the studies on the original manuscript, will focus on its 19th-century copy and on the reasons behind the decision to reproduce its elegant geometric decoration along the text.
